Using TestSwap
- How quickly will I be told about a slot?
- Within a couple of seconds of the worker spotting it. Email and browser push fire in parallel; whichever your device responds to first will reach you.
- Can I look for slots at more than one centre?
- Yes — up to five centres per search. We poll all of them on every cycle and notify on the first match.
- What if I find a slot myself before you do?
- Click 'Stop this search' on your status page (the link in your confirmation email). The worker stops within seconds.
- Can I run multiple searches with the same email?
- Yes. Each search has its own unique status URL.
Privacy & data
- Why do you need my licence number?
- The DVSA cancellation page requires a logged-in session keyed to your booking. Without your licence number and booking reference we can't see your candidate slots.
- Where is sensitive data stored?
- Your licence number and booking reference are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being written to the database. The decryption key lives only in the server's environment.
- Will you ever share my data?
- No. We use it solely to query the DVSA on your behalf and never share or sell it.
Reliability
- How often do you check?
- Every 2 minutes by default. The admin can dial this down to 10 seconds for short, high-priority windows.
- What if the DVSA blocks the worker?
- We log the block, back off with exponential delay and retry. If we genuinely can't get through, you'll see the failure in your live activity feed.
- Is this a service the DVSA endorses?
- No. TestSwap is independent. We don't speak for the DVSA.
